TOKWIRO COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Tokwiro Enterprises is a strong supporter of the civic and cultural life of Kahnaw:ke. In December 2007, Tokwiro companies UltimateBet, Absolute Poker, and NextActive Networks (NAN) set up The Sahanatie Community Fund for the purpose of investing in community projects that improve the quality of life for the people of Kahnaw:ke. Tokwiro has undertaken an annual commitment of $50,000.00 to the SCF.

In addition to this $50,000 commitment, in June 2008 Absolute Poker, UltimateBet and The Sahanatie Community Fund announced their support of Team Kahnaw:ke. These groups covered the costs of the team’s travel expenses to Cowichan, BC., so that team members could participate in the North American Indigenous Games.

Absolute Poker, UltimateBet, and The Sahanatie Community Fund support the Haudenosaunee Cooking Workshops and the free Family Public Skating program in Kahnaw:ke.

Tokwiro and the Sahanatie Community Fund have repeatedly stepped in to support Kahnaw:ke community programs in need, from sponsoring youth sports activities at the Youth Center to providing equipment for the Powwow Committee. Tokwiro is rooted in the community and has always stepped forward when it needed help.
